Asbarez is an Armenian-American bilingual daily newspaper that began publication in August 1908 in Fresno, California. After several successful decades, the offices and publishing headquarters moved to Los Angeles in the early 1970s. It serves the Armenian-American community in the Western US and is known for its commitment to providing important news and information to the community. Asbarez covers a wide range of topics including the Armenian Genocide, the triumph of the first Independent Republic, and the Artsakh liberation struggle. It began publishing its English section on May 1, 1970, and today, it is the voice of the community and a source of information within the halls of Congress, libraries, and newsrooms of major media outlets.
